Year In Review Printable

I have been designing like a crazy woman and have so many ideas to share! I can't wait to show you all I've come up with for the New Year!

Today I am sharing my Year in Review paper. I designed this for you to use for your New Year parties or just for fun!
I plan to do this on New Year's Eve with my kids and our friends who are coming to visit. It's a great way to find out a little about your children and write it down.
I saw the idea HERE but revamped the design and added a few more fun things to it!

It's an 8.5 x 11 sized paper.
You can either right click the image above, save it to your computer and print it,
or you can download it HERE.

Check back this week for more New Year's goodness, recipes, and organizational printables!

New Year, New Goals, and Preparations

I cannot believe that 2013 is right around the corner! I am overwhelmed with hope and excitement as a new year is pending. There are so many wonderful things I hope to accomplish this year!

On my personal family blog, I post every year a list of Hopes. I DO NOT set resolutions, because these are always broken...I always list my Hopes. This year will be no different, and I may share my list here as well!

Because of all these hope lists, goals, and new beginnings, I am frantically prepping all things organizational for you! Each day in the first week or so of the New Year, I will share a different digital design that might help you start the new year off right! You're excited right?! You should be...there will be chore charts, birthday card lists, and even some fun New Year goal charts for your kidlets.

Come back next week for some delicious digital goodness! For now, have a safe and happy holiday!

Raffia Star Tutorial

I have a shelf in my living room and that desperately needed some holiday decor. I have been working on it for most of December and finally have it the way I like.

I added a cute homemade Raffia star to my shelf for a little bit of height and whimsy. I absolutely love how it turned out, and it only took me a little over an hour!

Here's the tutorial if you'd like to make one for yourself!

Supplies Needed:
Glue Gun
10 Large/Small Popsicle Sticks
 Raffia

Photobucket

Step 1: Glue popsicle sticks together into five small angled corners.

Photobucket

Step 2: Glue them into a star shape. I adjusted mine after this picture. You can do the same.

Photobucket

Step 3: Wrap your entire star with raffia.

Once you've wrapped the entire star you're done! You can always wrap it differently then I did, this is just all the raffia I had on hand and so that's how I wrapped it. Add it to your favorite decor and enjoy it all season long!

Heaven in our Home

I wrote on my personal family blog about my heartache and grief I have felt in the last few days. My Grandfather passed away, the shooting in Connecticut, and some friends of mine lost their grandson/nephew to an umbilical chord accident. I have seen so much heart ache and sadness, and all I could do was cry.

In all this pain and suffering and death, I had one quote that wouldn't leave my mind. One I've seen before and loved. It states, "Because someone we love is in Heaven, there is a little bit of Heaven in our home."

It is perfect for all who have ever lost a loved one. Because of my friends' loss, I designed this 8.5 x 11 print, using that quote, in honor of their precious grandson/nephew.

As always, I am willing to customize with with colors, hearts, baby footprints, or logos to symbolize your loved one. I will do this for FREE! I want as many people to as possible to be touched by this quote. I want you to remember that no matter what, that loved on you lost will be with you always. Watching over your family, guardian angel who keeps watch over your family. Please share this, and email me with any questions or customization requests.

My prayers and heartfelt love goes to each and all families who are grieving this holiday season. May the Lord bless you and keep you.

Chocolate Crinkles

I am a slightly obsessed with getting as much done in December as I can so that I can enjoy the holiday. I sent out our Christmas Cards the first week and managed to make treats and take them to neighbors the second week! It feels so good to be done with it all.

I hear my neighbors enjoyed the treats and I wanted to share the delicious cookie recipe I used.
This recipe is my Mother In Law's. She is an amazing cook and baker and actually owns a catering company! They are so simple and so delicious, perfect for a holiday party or for your neighbors! :)
Enjoy!

Chocolate Crinkles

Ingredients:
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. vegetable oil, plus 2 T.
6 T. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 t. vanilla
3 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
2 t. baking powder
powdered sugar

Combine, sugar, oil, cocoa and vanilla. Beat in eggs. Add flour and baking powder to chocolate mixture. Using 1 T. dough for each cookie, shape into balls, roll in powdered sugar. Cover and chill for 1 hour. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees until powdered sugar crinkles. Do not over bake.

MIA

So sorry I have been neglecting my little blog here! The holidays are in full swing at our house! I am busy enjoying it and the time with my kids. I am also working on making some delicious cookie recipes and sewing gifts for my kids for Christmas. I will have tutorials and recipes up shortly.

To add to the craziness, my sweet Grandpa passed away last Friday. I have been busily designing his funeral programs, and comforting my Mom as much as I can being a few hours from her. It's been hard, but it was his time. How grateful I am to know that life doesn't end after death!

Thank you for bearing with me and my crazy busy life! I promise to post a recipe tomorrow!

Goodnight.

The one shown here is only an example of what I designed for our Primary.

The are 5x5 and will fit a CD cover perfectly!
Please email me with questions and customizations, I would be happy to add whatever songs your Primary is singing for the year.
Enjoy your Sunday evening. :)

Christmas Music Subway Art

I am decorating a shelf in my living room this holiday season. I wanted it to all be focused around carols, singing, and the sacred songs about Jesus' birth. To save some money, I designed a subway art print for my shelf. It consists of all of the most commonly sung, and most of my favorite Christmas songs of Christ. As usual, I wanted to share them with you!!

So here you go,
Enjoy!
